Broccoli is an edible green plant in the cabbage family whose large flower-head is eaten as a vegetable. Broccoli was first introduced to the United States by Italian immigrants but did not become widely known until the 1920s. This versatile vegetable can be steamed, pureed, stir fried or baked in a casserole.
Located in Glenn Mills, PA this collective is made up of Amish family farmers. They grow a range of fruits and vegetables between the 10 farmers. Innovative and forward looking, these farmers extend their growing season with high tunnels, and combine old and new techniques to responsibly and productively farm their land.
Store broccoli in a plastic bag in the refrigerator; will last 5-6 days. Can be kept for 12 months if split, blanched and frozen.
