Dylan Baird, founder of Philly Foodworks

Philly's New Way to Grocery

I love sharing food with people. It is my greatest joy in life.

I started out urban farming in West Philly, meeting my neighbors and enjoying good food together. Philly Foodworks is building a local food system where people can enjoy the best food our region has to offer and know the people who grow, pack, and deliver it to their door.

Our weekly online market and farm share serves greater Philadelphia, bringing foods from across the region to kitchens across the region. Every time you shop at Philly Foodworks, you are building a local food system, supporting your neighbors, and creating a more sustainable society.

We want a new food system for our city. We do not believe in exploiting people or land, and we want food from sustainable farms grown by people who are paid a fair price. Healthy food should be a utility available to everyone in our city, because it is a right, not a privilege. Our food system needs to be sustainable, regenerative farms, without food waste, and with zero-waste packaging.

How It Works

Our Guiding Principles

Invest in local food production

Invest in local food production

We know a food system is only as strong as its producers. We crop plan, invest in their operations, and pay fair prices so they can keep producing and providing for our city.

How your box builds a local food system

Access to healthy food for all

When you shop at Philly Foodworks, you're supporting weekly food donations, low cost produce boxes and a low-income farmers' market

The goal of zero waste

The goal of zero waste

We're reducing waste at every step. From decreasing overproduction and ensuring nothing goes into the landfill to using reusable and compostable packaging.

How less can do more

Numbers that motivate us

Small choices. Big impact.

92%

of our products are sourced within 150 miles of our warehouse and 90% of every dollar you spend stays in our local economy.

Every item you stock helps support neighbors who grow and make food for our community.

2,000+

Through our network of community partners we are providing food to over 2,000 low-income households every year that would otherwise not be able to access nutrient-rich food.

95%

Of our packaging is returnable or compostable.

We make shopping farm-to-table better for your home, and better for Philly too.

Our Network

Powered by producers we know by name

Our market feels different because it is different. Behind every loaf, jar, bunch, and bottle is a producer or maker we know and trust. We're proud to know them and proud to help bring their food to your table.
