I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you! We are expanding our pantry and prepared foods offerings by introducing over 75 new products, increasing our variety by more than 25%!

When Philly Foodworks first launched, our main focus was solely on selling fresh produce. Over the years, we’ve gradually broadened our product offerings. This enables us to:

ᐧ Support more local producers and build a stronger local food system
ᐧ Increase convenience for our customers
ᐧ Strengthen our business by boosting the overall spending of our customers

Our long-term vision is for two-thirds of everyone’s grocery budget to be spent on locally sourced products from small businesses that use socially and ethically responsible production methods. While we recognize that there is still much work to be done to expand our product offerings and maintain affordability, we are making meaningful progress each and every day.

In curating our new products, we prioritized kitchen staples, delicious snack foods, and nourishing breakfast items. Over the past three months, we diligently sought customer input and identified items that align with our standards for taste, health, and ethical production practices. Although not all of these products are local, many are! We understand that some items cannot be sourced locally, and our customers still purchase them. By offering these products at Philly Foodworks, our customers can support a small, local business dedicated to local producers. Here's how we established our criteria for selecting these items:

ᐧ Delicious - First and foremost, we want you to enjoy your food! Plain and simple—if it isn’t good, we won’t sell it!
ᐧ Local - Focusing on local to continue building a sustainable food system is at the core of our mission. Approximately 60% of the products we added are made within 150 miles of Philadelphia; another 30% are sourced regionally within 500 miles; and the remaining 10% are produced elsewhere in the continental U.S. Our overall product mix on our website is still pver 90% locally sourced.
ᐧ Independently made - We are proud to partner with small businesses that are not part of large conglomerates. These businesses genuinely care for their employees, communities, and the quality of their products.
ᐧ Healthy - Our focus remains on items made with simple, natural ingredients.

As we evaluate the performance of these products, we look forward to further expanding our pantry and prepared food section, with plans to add more affordable nuts, easy meals, and delightful prepared dishes. Thank you for being an integral part of our local food community and for supporting Philly Foodworks! Please share any feedback on new products or product suggestions at info@phillyfoodworks.com
